[TUT] Adding vehicles(without replace game vehicles)

Right now i wanna show how you can add vehicles to GTA IV with out replace any game automobile.
This tutorial is primarily based on this video.

  • Straightforward way

Download this file (press ctrl + s to save), extract the files to this folder:

Open the OpenIV and choose the game version, navigate to the folder "modelscdimages", click in the button "Edit mode" and drag and drop the file added_automobiles.img to the OpenIV window:

Now open the game and use an trainer to spawn the models :), inside OpenIV double click the file added_vehicles.img to see the names of the models, you will have in this file some helicopters, later you can add cars, bikes, and so on..

  • Tough, but much more indicated, way

Initial we want an .img file to shop the new automobiles, open the OpenIV and choose the game version, in this tutorial i will use EFLC, navigate to the folder "modelscdimages":

now click in the button "Edit mode" and confirm the query:

correct click an clear space of the file browser and go to New > GTA IMG Archive (.img ...

in the new window we choose the name of the image file, let's use added_cars:

now double click the file added_cars and drag and drop the files of the desired models to add, constantly add new vehicle files to this img file as an alternative of cars.img:

Now we need to create two files: added_autos_handling.dat and added_automobiles.ide, open the Notepad and click in Files > Save as, then select an folder and kind the name added_cars_handling.dat, in the combo box bellow select the option All files (*.*), do the very same to generate the file added_vehicleside, in the end you will have this two files:

spend consideration to the extension, need to be IDE and DAT, not TXT :)

Ok, now we need to copy this files to the following GTA folder:

Open the file added_autos.ide with notepad and add the following text to it:

Now, when adding new info to this file, often insert the data among "vehicles" and "finish", example:

Save the file and close.

Obs.: I am doing this instance with EFLC, with GTA IV its virtually the same, what changes is the root folder, in GTA IV its the folder where is the file GTAIV.exe (typically C:Program FilesRockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV), for EFLC its the folder where its the file EFLC.exe (frequently C:Program FilesRockstar GamesEFLC).

Now uncover the file default.dat, proper click it and make sure that the Study only verify box it really is unmarked:

Open this file with the Notepad to edit it, add to the line just before "HTML http:" the path to the added_cars_handling.dat file:

Save and close. Now find the file gta.dat, do the exact same about Study only alternative and open it with notepad, add the following lines to reference the added_autos.ide file:

Save and close, find the file images.txt, identical with Study only alternative, open with Notepad and add the following line to reference the img file:

Save and close.

Now what we require to do its edit the files added_vehicles_handling.dat and added_vehicles.ide to define the information that we usually replace into GTA files (handling.dat and automobiles.ide)

For instance, for the Helicopters that i added in the OpenIV i added those lines to added_vehicles_handling.dat file:

Obs.: Pay focus to added tabulation/spaces in between symbol $ and name of the model, this can make the game crash or not uncover the models, the correct its only a single space.

And in the added_vehicles.ide file:

A single for every car

Now in the game you can test it using an vehicle spawner that accepts name input or use the scripthook console window and the command spawn name_of_model:
